Mmmmm.. Tasty...

Ohhh... I ate too much.


This weekend was the annual Taste of Durango, where they close off a good portion of main street and all the restaurants in town come out to "strut their stuff." It was a beautiful day (if a bit warm, we were 1 degree off record high.) I bought my $20 worth of tokens (all of the items from the different restaurants are 3-6 Tokens) and first up was the local breweries. Hey I cant be walking in downtown Durango in almost 90 Degree weather without a cold beer in hand. I stopped at a few of my favorites and had a sample at each, tried a couple of new places and was mildly impressed. I met up with everyone (Mike, Sadie, Mark, Sarah, Morgan, Donovan, ect...) who had been there long enough already to find a good observation spot in the shade, right next to the Durango Brewery tent and were well into their third beer of the afternoon. We hung out and kept eating.. and eating... (and drinking) until all of our tokens were gone. $20 got me 3 beers and a good sample from 5 or six different restaurants. After it all shut down we ended up at Lady Falconburgs and for some reason sat down and ordered more beer and food. (I'm not real sure why we did that, I for one was stuffed.)

Finally we left on a mission to go check out the river, with the high temps the river is WAY bigger than I have ever seen it. Last year it peaked at about 4300 CFS, (Cubic Feet per Second) this morning it is at 7660 CFS expected to reach 9K!!! The rafting tours are having to duck to get under some of the bridges!! Those same bridges normally are about 10 feet above the water, and for the last few years the guides have had to push the boat over the rocks because there was not enough water.

Anyway on the way to the river I had to stop several times to let my stomach catch up to me. I was WAY overstuffed Lots of beer and lots of food all crammed into my little stomach and then we began walking. Finally after we got back to the house we had about 2 hours before we go see Star Wars so pretty much all of us passed out from exhaustion and Food Coma.

Oh yea then we saw Star Wars!!
