Back in space

Got to watch the live stream of the Discovery launch this morning. It was awesome! I wish I could take some screenshots of it. When the Main fuel tank was released from the orbiter and you see the thrusters moving the orbiter away LIVE. I was in awe the whole time. That is 35 Year old technology and it is still amazing to watch it work.

The live stream is still going on check it out on Nasa.gov.

I am also quite impressed. What an amazing endevour. For me to go into space would be quite impossible. Yet it looks so easy. And as you said, our technology is way beyond that now. Here we are with 35 year tecnology that works flawlessly (well most of the time) and in this time we have not developed new technology so that more people can learn more and experience space. Imagine what could be done with the 5 billion dollars per month that we spend blowing up shit in Iraq! You and I could have a reasonalbe chance of actually going to space in our lifetime. But alas, The closest I will come is by climbing to mountain tops and THAT is just fine with me. Stop the War in IRAQ!
