Holiday Travel

I really don’t think that traveling is anywhere near the hassle that everyone makes it. The staff makes it really easy, there are a ton people here at the Salt Lake City airport and the longest line I waited in was the food line. I used the self check in and checked my bags went through security and now I am sitting here with plenty of time to spare waiting for my flight to board.

The people at the airport are an interesting bunch to watch, I would have to say that at least 15% of the people are using there cell phone, they are either talking or playing games, I see a lot of people with laptops, some with DVD players watching movies, and quite a few people with some sort or CD Player or MP3 player. I think it is great that we have all of this technology that allows us to be connected and entertained at any given time. It does bother me however that I have to pay $10 in order to connect to the wireless network here, it should for sure be free.

I love flying, If I could I would go somewhere every weekend, imagine hoe much more of this country everyone could see if we could travel as easily as one can in Europe (or so Ive heard). But I think that we developed the airline industry because it seemed to be far more profitable for companies than investing in rail like over there. I think the train would be very entertaining.

I’m sorry if this seems a bit like a ramble, I really don’t have much to say yet, I am just bored sitting here waiting to get on the plane. So I’m going to stop here.

Xmas Vacation

Today is my last day at work until the new year!!!, I am so excited! I haven’t had more than 4 day away from work an quite awhile. I am going to be driving back to Park City, UT. On Thursday morning I fly to Rapid City, SD. Back to PC on Xmas day, and the whole world is open at that point!! (Finances Permitting ;-))

My good friend Andy started a blog last night at the request of everyone, I am so excited to read about what is pissing him off that day!! It is not quite all set yet, I think he is going to name it something like "I don’t like it, and here’s why". Hopefully he will get into it, he is very funny and it will probably be very entertain to read.

Ive been really busy lately and I have a bunch of stuff I want to write about, but I dont have time just yet. I have a bunch started and hopefully I will finish and post them.

Perfect Timing

I woke up yesterday, with a headache and an upset stomach, but I assumed it was from the wine I had Monday @ Kristen’s birthday dinner. I went to work and on the way there I felt like I was going to pass out in the car, so I talked to my boss and my friends here that are EMT's and they told me to go home but not to drive. They gave me a ride home and I spent the rest of the day with the "Lord of the Rings - Return of the King (Platinum Series Special Extended Edition Collectors Gift Set)" that had arrived at my old house Monday night (the day before it got released), and JD delivered it to my desk yesterday morning.

So at home at about 9:45 AM I started the movie, 4 Hours and 10 min later, still feeling like crap, the movie ended (yes it is 4 h 10 M long...) so I put in the first of the making of disks, 3 and a half hours later, I put in the OTHER making of disk, Another 4 hours passed. At 10:30 I finally finished and went to bed. 12 and a half hours of entertainment!! of course sitting on my uncomfortable futon bed and being sick was not fun, but the fact that I had something to do all day was great, I moved maybe 3 ft all day.

It is good to be a geek, how else would I have found joy in watching all of that Lord of the rings stuff!

Well it is going to happen again soon, because my friends and I have planned a 12 hour marathon day sometime soon to watch all 3 extended edition movies! I can’t wait!

That it for now, I’m still feeling sick, but I don’t want to use any more vacation days, so Ill suffer thorough it at work, Later!!

Weekend Update

Well it’s Monday morning already, which should explain a little about what went on this weekend.

Friday night:
My friends and I went and saw Oceans 12, I give it a 6.5/10. I think that it was good that I had read reviews saying that it was terrible because it turned out to be better than I expected. It was in no way as good as the Oceans 11, but it was still entertaining. For the most part it seemed as though the story was not all there and the whole crew just went around Europe and said "boy that would be cool lets do that" and shot a scene. There were a couple of scenes that I thought were pretty poor, but the rest was mildly funny and kept me interested.

Saturday:
I went to Farmington with my friends Kristen and Dina to do some Christmas shopping. Nothing terribly exciting except that I got to spend the day with 2 cute girls ;)

That night was Kristen’s birthday celebration on the town, so we went out and met everyone at the Summit at 9 and somehow we found a ride home at around 1:45 AM. We had called a Taxi but they were not taking reservations until 3:30!! Yea Right, I am going to hang around down town for an hour and a half after the bars close to wait for a taxi when I can walk anywhere in town in half that time!! We still had a great time and everyone got home safe so it was a good night.

Sunday:
My favorite local bar/restaurant had been closed for the last week and a half for some "Forced Remodeling". I believe they had a water main break and flooded the whole place with water. The finally reopened Saturday night, so we went to lunch there to see how the place looked. They repainted a lot of the walls and it looks great, but they put in new carpet... that is going to take some getting used to. It is Casino carpet, very active, and doesn’t really match the rest of the place.

After lunch, Kristen and I went and saw The Nutcracker at the Fort Lewis Concert Hall. I had never seen it, or any ballet for that matter. It was not what I had expected but it was still fun to watch and I am glad I went. I had a hard time following the story, but Kristen said that this version of it was not as clear as the others she had seen and it was definitely harder to follow than it should be. That made me feel better and after some explanation it was making better sense.

That’s all I’ve got for now, I had better get back to work! There are some mystery bugs I must kill!!

Great Movie, I must recommend this to everyone. It is a story of Ernesto Rafael Guevara de la Serna a cuban revolutionary. This story is of his earlier life as he leaves his home and travels all around S. America.

If you get a chance to go see it I would.

I am going to see Oceans 12 tonight so I will post my review of that tomorrow sometime...

Telluride Update

Telluride

Went to telluride with JD today, we had a great time, a little bit of new snow was on the ground. My favorite part of the day was not the snow but my new Skiis! They were so much fun! I cant wait to take them out on a better day!

I have one picture right now but will have more and possibly some videos when I can get the from JD.

This was the road on lizzard head pass, it is supposed to be the mtns in the background but cameraphones suck so its the best I got. JD's pictures are alot better and I will post them later.

Ford GT

The other Weekend, my friends JD, and Holly and I went to Farmington to to a bit of shopping. JD and I being the car geeks we are knew that someone in Farmington had purchased on of the rare new Ford GT Supercars. We decided to check out the local Dealer on the off chance that it would be there, and sure enough it was!

Stragler Thanksgiving

Well, Again, I dont have much to talk about... I will try to get better at this.

Anyway, when I moved reciently, I had to get a Cell Phone. So of course because I am such a Geek I had to get the coolest one at the shop. (I should have looked around a bit but that is the problem with me, when I decide I want something, I want it then!!) Well, I got it and it is cool, it has a camera and even can do video, I will try to use it in conjunction with the blog, because it would be fun.

This was the "Stragler Thanksgiving" at my friend Andys house that has been alot of fun over the last few years. You cant see very well, and I should have gotten it when everone was sitting, but, this is what I got.

Well this is it, I have tried a few times before, but now I guess Im cool. I hope I can start using this because I think it can be a lot of fun.
